With the popularity of the BlackBerry, it’s no wonder that developers are coming up with applications of it so often. One of the new ones that has been surrounded in a bit of controversy is spy software for BlackBerry phones.
Spy software for BlackBerry phones can be found on several sites on the Internet. They usually require you to pay a registration fee for the first month, and then a monthly fee for each month after. The monthly fee is much cheaper than the registration fee, so after you get it registered, it’s quite cheap to keep the software running.
Spy software for BlackBerry phones does three main things. First of all, it allows you to monitor the call history of a BlackBerry phone. This includes information such as the numbers contacted and the time of the calls.
The second main feature of spy software for BlackBerry phones is the access to the content of every text message sent or received by the BlackBerry phone. This feature works even after the text message was deleted, since the content is recorded in a log as soon as it is created or received by the BlackBerry phone.
The third main feature of spy software for BlackBerry phones is the marking of the phone location on Google Maps. That way, you can always know where the phone, and presumably the user, is located at any moment.
As you can imagine from software that offers all these features, there is some controversy regarding its use. On one hand, some people think it’s an invasion of privacy. On the other, some people think it’s an excellent way of protecting their loved ones, specially children or kids, as well as a way of controlling expenses related to long distance calls.
Regardless of your position, the software is perfectly legal because you can only install it on a BlackBerry phone that you own. Because you can do with your private property whatever you want, it’s no different than painting your house of putting new tires on your car. And if you use the for illegal purposes, like stealing someone’s phone momentarily and installing the software on it, the people who sold you the software will cooperate with law enforcing agencies to find you.
So, what’s the point of installing the software on your own phone? Just because you own the phone, you don’t have to use it yourself. You can give BlackBerries to your kids for their own safety or to your employees for work purposes. You will still own the phone legally, but you can use it to control expenses this way.
